NY Charter Schools investigated over admissions methods

Another investigation of Charter Schools, this time in NYC regarding violations of the state's charter school admission policy.

Michigan's Charter School admissions policy is "A charter school may not be selective. It may not screen out students based on disability, race, religion, sex, test scores, etc. It may predetermine the ages, grades, and number of students it will serve. A random selection process must be used if the number of applicants exceeds the school’s enrollment capacity" (there are some schools that are restricted, such as Strict Discipline Academies)

Recently, the Philadelphia Academy Charter School the founding CEO and his successor were charged with stealing almost $1 million.
